Jessalyn graduated from Carleton University’s journalism program in Ottawa and began her career in film and television production. She was quickly drawn to the writing process and worked in the story department of the CBC series Tom Stone and as a story editor on the BBC series Shoebox Zoo. Jessalyn discovered she enjoyed development while working for various companies in the UK. She returned to Canada to take over development for SEVEN24 Films, and pursue her MFA in Creative Writing through UBC.
As Director of Development, Jessalyn has overseen the development of Heartland, Wild Roses and Mayerthorpe. Jessalyn is currently managing an active development slate of approximately 25 projects, including feature films, television movies, dramatic series and children’s series.
