Cameron began his career in the film and television industry as a Production Assistant at Corkscrew Media in 2006. Shortly thereafter he attended the film/video production program at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology. While in that program he interned at the Alberta Film Commission and after graduation he was offered a full-time position. Cameron worked under the Manager of Locations and Production Logistics for one year and was provided with an extensive overview of the Canadian film and television industry.
After leaving the Alberta Film Commission, Cameron moved to Toronto and worked at the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival. In late-2007, Cameron moved back to his hometown of Calgary to work for SEVEN24 Films.
