He destroyed everything he touched… his family, his neighbours… his life.
Sam Shepard stars in this story of love and tyranny, destruction and survival, set in the Canadian prairies of the 1920s, based on the groundbreaking novel, Wild Geese, written over 80 years ago.
Farmer Caleb Gare is obsessed with owning land and controlling the lives of his family, whom he keeps as virtual prisoners working on his farm. When a visiting teacher, Lind, moves into the Gare home, everything changes. Lind soon finds herself caught in a battle of wills between Caleb and his four children, particularly the oldest girl, Jude, who longs for freedom, love and her own independent life.
